1964 Ford Mustang Convertible
The
first generation Ford Mustang was launched in the US on April 17, 1964.
It
combined it sporty looks, economy, and performance in a package that had an
affordable price tag.
The
Mustang had enough options that you could have it as an economy car to a luxury
sports car.
The
Mustang created the "pony car" class of
American automobiles which consist of sports-car like coupes with long hoods and short rear decks.
It
gave rise to competitors such as the Chevrolet Camaro, and Pontiac Firebird, AMC Javelin, as
well as Chrysler's improved Plymouth Barracuda and the first generation Dodge Challenger.
